Along I-55, expect mostly cloudy to overcast skies in northern Illinois with increasing rain showers through the day. Central and southern Illinois will see scattered to numerous rain showers with a chance of thunderstorms later in the day. Winds will generally remain below 20 mph except for gusts near 20-24 mph in southern Illinois and northern Missouri. Southern Missouri and Arkansas will experience clearing skies with some gusty winds up to 21 mph. Mississippi and Louisiana sections will have mostly clear skies and mild temperatures with occasional gusts around 20 mph.
